Himedia Q10 pro with Epson EH-LS10000 and Sony VPL-VW520 4k

Today i have opportunity to try Q10 pro with Epson EH-LS10000 and Sony VPL-VW520 4k....

quality image with LS10000 was amazing!​

- with some documentary/naturalist video, it's perfect ... it's like view from a window in middle of forest o front a ocean...

- color it's perfect or realist, special with EH-LS10000

- dynamic range, withe and black level it's correct

There wasn't time to compare shield VS Q10, but the manager of store have told me that Q10 is more fluid and better image quality.

for now it is like in the previous generation needs to use the external player HIMEDIA, but we are at halfway: the hardware decoding work with the kodi 16  ( "vanilla" play market  ) player (dvdplayer) :

In the new players they were integrated into the OS and using OpenMAX (Open Media Acceleration) used by the Android API "MedicaCodec" which are now the standard used by kodi 16, are supported all the coding most common:

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.mpeg4

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.avc

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.hevc

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.mpg2 

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.vp9

.....

so no problem for playback of H.265 4k 10bit!

 is still missing:

1) auto-switch  FPS 

2) Audio HD , only DD e DTS

on kodi needed for perfect reproduction

the good news is Expressx Video engine work also with kodi 16  "vanilla" ( from andorid market )

Let's say that the foundation for good support and there are also the interests of kodi community, perhaps we must expect a bit of time but a complete integration and desirable.

The Video player Himedia remains valuable definitely above average enough to not feel for the need to use kodi which still can be used as a jukebox for covers and titles.

Per ora è come nella generazione precedente necessita  di usare il player esterno himedia, ma siamo a meta strada le decodifiche hardware funzionano anche col player di kodi( dvdplayer ):

Nel nuovo player sono state integrate nel SO e tramite OpenMAX (Open Media Acceleration) utilizzate dalle API Android "MedicaCodec" che  adesso sono lo standard usato da kodi 16, sono supportate tutte le codifica più diffuse:

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.mpeg4

OMX.hisi.video.decoder.avc
OMX.hisi.video.decoder.hevc

quindi nessun problema per la riproduzione anche di 4k h.265 a 10bit !

Manca però ancora in kodi  
1) auto-switch degli FPS necessario
2)  per una riproduzione perfetta.

Diciamo che le basi per un buon supporto ci sono e anche un interessa della comunità di kodi, forse bisognerà attende un pò di tempo ma un integrazione completa e auspicabile.

Il player Video Himedia  rimane comunque validissimo decisamente sopra la media tanto da non sentire la necessità di usare kodi che comunque può essere usato come jukebox per copertine e titoli.
